Viva La Silk

Hello, my name is My-Cherie, the Artist and Designer of Viva La Silk. First and foremost, I AM so grateful to be MAMA to two wonderful children who motivate me to stay connected to my silly, adventurous & creative side and challenge me to be the best version of myself, every single day. My motto in life is, “Do what you love. Love what you do.” I believe we should all chase after the things that we are passionate about. I started dyeing silk scarves ten years ago under the business name Shimmer & Bliss. Dyeing and free-style painting on silk became my favorite medium and sparked so much JOY in my life; however, I had to take a hiatus due to a busy mom life and life-changing circumstances. I didn’t think the silks would circle back around this lifetime, but God had a plan for me. My heart was yearning to share my Art with the world, and my friends kept reminding me that I needed to step out on faith and just do it! So I AM doin’ it! Viva La Silk is inspired by Color, Beauty, History, Culture and Travel. The bold colors are inspired by the vibrancy of my Cuban-Jamaican heritage. My goal is to share my love of Silk and Afro-Caribbean culture through my Art, while being kind to Mother Earth. Hopefully I can bring a little more Love & Light into the world.
