Transformation Yoga

Foremost we acknowledge that we are inhabitants of stolen land that did not belong to us, whether our ancestors immigrated to Turtle Island (North America) or were stolen and brought here. We acknowledge for healing to take place, we must begin by telling the truth and sharing a common memory. Our studio is positioned on the land of Kusso Indigenous people and we are grateful for their stewardship of this land and its eco systems that we are interconnected with. We commit to honoring the land and their presence. We also acknowledge the nuance and complicity of inhabiting land that does not belong to us and many of us being descendants of people that were stolen and brought here enslaved and against their own free will. We are able to be present and do our work in existence today because of the blood, tears, resilience, love, grace, joy and resistance of a mighty people. The world as we knew it is shifting and we envision a future where the voices of many are more important than agreeing on one. A world that is just and every heart and soul is respected. Where racial healing is not an issued statement curated by public relations and human resources departments but the department of the soul and apologies do not remove our implicit histories and nuanced connections. Where apologies are best demonstrated by changed behavior, reduced harm and equity for the essential lives of Black, Indigenous and brown people pushed to the margins, underserved and underrepresented. A world where we are encouraged to amplify and listen to others’ share their lived experience(s), knowing it does not take away from our own or the collective story of humanity. A world where we embody the change and the spirit of healing and liberation for all. We are inviting you to join us in creating this world.
