Sybil’s

Established in 1976. "Since its humble beginnings in 1976, Sybil's has evolved into something of an institution in New York's West Indian enclaves. It is a place to savor coconut drops, pineapple tarts and crusty currant rolls...Mostly everyone knows of Sybil's and knows of Sybil Bernard-Kerrutt, the 58-year old founder." (New York Times, Sunday, January 23, 1994). The founder has since passed on but through her children the great Sybil's tradition of Guyanese and Caribbean cooking lives on. One of her sons, Ken Bernard now manages the Hillside store which is the original location. Sybil's presently offers a wide variety of Guyanese and Caribbean bakery delights, sumptuous meals, spicy snacks and hot and cold beverages. We also cater for a variety of functions includding office parties and weddings. Our prompt and professional staff is always ready to serve. Welcome to the home of the original Sybils location on Hillside Avenue, Queens, New York. We are part of a family-owned and operated chain of bakeries and restaurant services. These other locations include, Sybils on Liberty Avenue, Queens, Veggie Castle and Sybils in Florida. Our menu is rooted in the Guyanese and Caribbean traditions and we aim to present you with a mouth-watering insight into food and beverage products.
