Shady Days

Shady Days is a line of handcrafted hats made by me, Johnesia Lucas, in Statesboro, Georgia. It's an outlet of my creativity that is a free streaming flow of my designs that come from travel, art, love, family and self. The world is full of people - "Shine Your Light" and stand out. Your hat should be just as unique as you. Our hats are handcrafted and one of a kind. Crafted just for you using quality felts, natural leather or cloth sweatbands, uniquely selected ribbons and feathers. We will create you a hat you will love using traditional millinery techniques, water, fire and vintage tools. My motivation is to help others express themselves with confidence. Shine your light through every Shady Day. Nothing shines brighter than confidence on Shady Days. I honestly did not know hat making was my thing. I knew creativity and design was my thing, but not this. With my intense love for hats, it found me. I graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design and MBA. My future looked more corporate. However, I always had a passion for hands-on work. My Late Great Aunt, Jessie Roberts, was a milliner. I never experienced her making the hats, but her creations are treasures of the family. Her passion is within me.
