Karen Brown found inspiration early in life through her love of French style. She began her career as an interior decorator where she acquired all sorts of fabrics and related design items through the years, along with a constant thirst for reinvention. Karen opened Savvy Chic in 2000 with an emphasis on antiques. Today, this charming little shop, nestled in the historic Eastern Market District, is a gold mine of French-sourced products, hard-to-find European designers, and fabulous locally-made items. As an independent business owner, Karen continues to work endless hours each week, always pursuing her vision to make Savvy Chic the best little Parisienne boutique (with a Detroit flair) in all of Southeast Michigan. If you ask her customers, they’ll tell you she’s already there.
