Moya

Moya was opened in 2010 by Fana Alemayehu aka Mama Fana. She immigrated to the United States from Ethiopia during the early 80’s. Mama Fana has always been passionate about food, so after years of working in various aspects of the food service industry, she finally got the opportunity to open her own restaurant and showcase her love for Ethiopian cooking and share the recipes that were taught to her by her mother. At Moya we pride ourselves in offering a wide range of classic Ethiopian dishes as well as some Ethiopian inspired meals we’ve created all made with authentic Ethiopian spices from Mama Fana’s farm in Ethiopia. Through Moya, Mama Fana has been able to start a farm in a rural part of the Northern region of Ethiopia called Mahone, Tigray. Her goal is to empower the local farmers and residents by developing a training center to help educate them on how to best use their land, teach them innovative farming methods and skills needed to compete in today’s economy.
