Free MVMT

January 1, 2018 was the first official class as Free Mvmt Shop. Ashley had found a little spot in the southport corridor that she was able to secure for a 5 month lease. The former dry cleaners she overhauled was going to be torn down for new construction so they wanted short term. Thus Free Mvmt Shop was originally made into a pop up concept. After a wonderful pop up run on Southport, the concept popped down April 30, 2018. November 2018, Ashley had found another spot to pop up, this time for one month in Lincoln Park. It was a great loft space with tons of room to grow. But there was a problem, a good one though. After every first class people were expressing their sadness that this was only a pop up. They wanted us to stay. In that first month, we had over 400 first time visits. We were on to something. So we stayed. And we stayed. And we stayed. And we’re still here. Two locations and a pandemic later. Now live streaming classes all across the world, Free Mvmt Shop has a HQ in Wicker Park.
