Hello, my name is Jennifer Day, I am a Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) serving, Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. My journey into the field of lactation stemmed mostly around my own rocky beginnings with my two children, having worked with providers that either harmed our experience or simply lacked the support I was searching for. Those experiences shaped what I knew my community needed most, relationship and true authenticity. My humble beginnings led me to work as a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, where I counseled and supported breastfeeding families for over 8 years. During that season as a Peer Counselor, I began the pathway toward becoming a Lactation Consultant. Over the course of that journey, I immersed myself into the community, cultivating relationships and building trust in those that reflected the community. I have worked with thousands of clients, all of whom have taught me everything I know today, to trust, listen and advocate on the behalf of my clients. I have committed myself toward decreasing disparity gaps in breastfeeding, using my voice and platforms, serving the community and by offering Pathway 3 IBCLC Mentorship for aspiring IBCLC’s, equipping and empowering future trailblazers to change the world. I am a leader, public speaker, consultant, clinician, advocate, and educator. My husband and I reside in the Metro-Detroit area with our two children, where we enjoy growing our own food, traveling and exploring the community. We are afforded with the opportunity to run our own businesses as photographers, videographers and consultants, while being present parents as we raise our two growing children and for that we are grateful! We are living our dreams and fulfilling our purpose.
